Marvel Strike Force Developers Talk Adding PvP, The Reemergence Of Thanos, And What Year Three Holds

While Black Widow has remained relevant, she is far from the best character in the game as she was considered two years ago, while Night Nurse has dropped off from relevancy substantially.

While Bender and his team at FoxNext have made efforts to reduce power creep, it has happened and it has affected different characters in different Forward Two characters that proved to be among the most coveted in the early days of the game were Black Widow and Night Nurse.

He's about to step up in a way that players asked for right from the may seem strange to add characters that were so prominently featured in one of the biggest movies ever nearly two years after that movie hit theaters, but FoxNext says the design process for the Black Order is a special case and is not indicative of how long the character design and implementation process normally takes.

As the third year of Marvel Strike Force kicks off, the team is adding VS. Battle, a new mode that allows you to challenge other players to real-time, synced PvP battles.

I spoke with creative director Jason Bender and game director Jonathan Durr to learn more about this new feature, as well as what to expect in the coming year of Marvel Strike Force.

Ninjala’ game snags ‘One Punch Man’ actor for animated show

Having broken cover once more as part of a procession of games included in March 26’s Nintendo Direct Mini video, “Ninjala” experienced a new wave of comparisons to Nintendo’s own supreme, soft-edge, off-kilter multiplayer action franchise, “Splatoon”.

First demonstrated as a show floor attraction at E3 2018, bubblegum-powered free-to-play multiplayer action game “Ninjala” is readying for launch in May with a series of animated shorts.

Featuring Max Mittelman (main character Saitama in hit anime series “One Punch Man”) and “Vampirina” voice actress Kailey Snider, video game “Ninjala” is introducing its characters and setting through a series of animated shorts.

Presumptive “Splatoon” successor “Ninjala” is preparing to launch itself onto the Nintendo Switch in May, with a series of animated shorts paving the way.

Living up to the standard of the Switch’s established “Splatoon 2” might seem like a mighty ask, “Ninjala” is not only free-to-play but does not require players to have an annual membership of the $20 (around P1,000) Nintendo Switch Online scheme.

Jack Black, one of the best celebrity YouTubers, is headed to TikTok

Jack Black has joined TikTok, and his first video shows him doing a goofy dance he calls the “Quarantine Dance.”

His TikTok debut has been viewed over 2.1 million times, and he now has over 400,000 followers on his account.

Since his debut, Black has uploaded three more videos on his account — a long gag where his son keeps cutting him off.

While Black has not said what his TikTok content will focus on, it seems to follow the same material as his YouTube channel, Jablinski Games, which, aside from gaming, also features impromptu vlogging.

Black is one of the few celebrities who thrives on YouTube, thanks to his energy and persona that consistently appear in each video he uploads.

iOS 13.4.5 Allows Sharing Apple Music to Instagram Stories

Yes, we know that the software update also contains a bunch of other features and changes, but the point is that Apple's method of updating built-in apps is horribly flawed as it slows down minor new feature releases like these, because they all depend on a huge iOS update to be rolled out.

A feature that Instagram actually rolled out before Snapchat was allowing other apps to post to Stories.

This works similarly to how Spotify and Netflix support sharing content previews in Instagram Stories, with a link back to the app so that other users can also discover the content.

Although it does not have many noticeable new features, users have found that it allows sharing Apple Music to Instagram and Facebook Stories.

One glaring issue with Apple Music Stories is that it contains no link to the app so there is no way for users to tap through and listen to the song or playlist that you share.

Linux Mint 20 Doing Away With 32 - Bit Support

Confirmation of Linux Mint 20 going 64-bit only was shared via their monthly newsletter .

Thus if Linux Mint were to continue with 32-bit support it would be more difficult to manage.

While Linux Mint has been popular with some novice Linux users and on lower-end hardware, Linux Mint 20 will not be offering 32-bit support.

Linux Mint 20 will come in its usual Cinnamon, MATE, and Xfce desktop flavors.

Linux Mint is joining the ranks of most other major desktop Linux distributions in abandoning their 32-bit support.Linux Mint 20 "Ulyana" is coming and based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

Lord Shaxx’s Destiny 2 exercise mixtape is here to pump you up

I’m still here and I will continue to be here, but it’s a bit grim knowing we have a whole extra season-and-a-half to go before we see substantial changes in response to Bungie’s realisation that the current season model is a bit bum.

But you need to progress quite deep into the season pass or boring Rasputin bunker upgrades to get to the goods, and some of the weapons that can generate Cells are a bit blah so I don’t want to use them, and many players seem barely aware that seasonal armour mods exist.

Bungie have also put up the mixtapes from other localisations so all can enjoy Shaxx’s encouragement in his Japanese, Spanish, Mexican, French, Korean, German, Polish, Russian, Italian, and Brazilian versions.

The Shaxxercize tape is a wee Easter egg in one quest from the new season, hidden on a shelf in the office of Commander Zavala, and now Bungie have put it on YouTube for everyone to enjoy.

If you too are trying to do home workouts with bottles of water and bags of sugar for weights, this might get you pumped up: a mixtape from Destiny 2 combining throbbing beats with the motivational words of Lord Shaxx.

Image of article 'The Ring Doorbox is revealed, but what is it for'

The Ring Doorbox is revealed, but what is it for

The Ring Doorbox leak comes from Zatz Not Funny!

The white, rectangular-shaped Doorbox looks to be about the size of a key lockbox (although it’s difficult to tell without any visual context), complete with the Ring logo, a telltale white and blue Ring button, and what appears to be a speaker grille near the bottom—or maybe it’s a handle, or a release lever?

Zatz Not Funny notes that the Doorbox “can be remotely locked and unlocked,” and given the apparent size of the enclosure, it seems like a good place for a key.

What the key might be for, however, is an open question, with Dave Zatz speculating that if the Ring Doobox is intended to hold a key, it might be for unlocking a package box rather than a front door.

The combination of Zatz’s leak and the Ring Explorer survey sure makes it sound like the Ring Doorbox could be an alternative to Amazon Key, a smart lock service that allows delivery personnel to drop off packages inside your home while you’re away.

iPad at 10: Some things never change

Throw in the ability to type on an external keyboard, and you got the distinct impression that Apple was trying to make the case that the iPad is a business tool and a true laptop alternative.”

I’m not sure Apple has ever figured out how to use all the screen space on an iPad for the Music app, and now it’s imported some of its same limitations to the version that runs on the Mac.

I quickly found myself getting uncomfortable using the iPad, and declared that Apple’s original ugly iPad case was going to be more useful than I had expected.

No piece of Apple hardware save for the original iPhone was as revelatory as that original iPad.

I think I got this one right back in 2010: “Because the iPad is such a new concept, Apple faces some serious challenges in making people understand how they might use it and why they should buy one.

The Best Open-World Games

FromSoftware is famous for its world design, with Bloodborne and the Dark Souls series featuring some of the most memorable locations in video game history.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice put a greater emphasis on stealth than past FromSoftware games in order to capitalize on this new verticality, but also managed to deliver a brilliant parry-based combat system.

Set in an unforgiving and often frozen world filled with undead creatures, giants, and plenty of fire-breathing dragons, Skyrim is so packed full of memorable lore and quests that it’s almost impossible to see the game in its entirety.

With satisfying combat inspired by the Arkham series and plenty of gear customization options, it’s a can’t-miss open world game.

Read our full The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild review Rockstar practically invented the modern open-world game with Grand Theft Auto III, and the series was never better than it was in 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V. Set in the gorgeous Los Santos and surrounding metropolitan area, Grand Theft Auto V features everything from bank robberies to a full-scale tennis simulator, and you can do any of them for hours on end.

Today, Sony Pictures announced a whole load of movies that are getting postponed and they’ve practically postponed their summer of 2020 to 2021.

If Sony is confident with the summer release date, then they might as well shift it to next year, instead of clashing with the saturated calendar this fall is going to be.

We just moved the camera up” – why Gears Tactics makes so much sense

As a Gears game it was also really important to us that we hit that high bar that the franchise has for storytelling and cinematics, so I think we’re uniquely positioned in the tactics space as having the sort of character-focused, high-quality real time cinematics, with your character customisation choices in there, driving that story.

In a lot of tactics games you activate a unit, and you get one move action and one shoot action and that’s it.

So I wrote a pitch document which said, ‘Hey, the turn-based tactics genre aligns well with the kind of game we are already: cover-based combat, squad-focused, tactical.’

So you decided independently to do a strategy or tactics game based on Gears.

Their answers indicate why translating a heart-thumping console cover shooter to the more considered turn-based tactics genre makes a great deal of sense, why it’ll still feel like Gears anyway, and why Gears Tactics has what it takes to stand tall not just among an increasingly crowded genre, but in comparison with the modern classic that revived it eight years ago.

Marvel, DC will delay digital comic books during brick-and-mortar closures

For at least one week, Marvel, DC, and other major publishers will not launch new comics in print or on digital platforms.

On Tuesday, a bulletin sent by Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley to retail partners confirmed that its usual run of new Wednesday comic books would indeed not arrive in a physical format this Wednesday, April 1.

No April Fool's joke there; this is due to Diamond, the biggest American distributor of print comic books, canceling shipment for any comics with a publish date of April 1 or later "until further notice," as per an announcement on March 23.

After recognizing "notes, discussions, and the absolute resolve we have heard and seen" from comic book shops, Buckley flatly confirmed that "Marvel will also not be releasing any new comic book titles digitally on April 1."

Marvel, DC, Image, and other major publishing brands already offered assurances to physical retail partners about logistical matters like book returns and refunds for the next few months.

EVE Online Players Gather Virtually To Watch Fan-Made EVE Space Opera

The stream was a marathon of a machinima series called “Clear Skies,” beloved in the EVE community.

“Clear Skies” is a space opera told in the universe of EVE Online, following the crew of the titular vessel, a Minmatar Tempest-class battleship.

The crew of the Clear Skies get themselves in and out of quite a bit of trouble during the adventure, and Chisholm tells a very compelling story without too much unnecessary EVE specific jargon.

The original release of “Clear Skies” was well received among the growing EVE community, being downloaded over 20,000 times in the first 48 hours.

“Clear Skies” remains a testament to the creativity and love that EVE Online players routinely show for their shared pastime.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been remastered and is out today

After years of speculation, a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s single-player campaign is finally here, bringing an enhanced version of one of the most iconic FPS games of the late 2000s onto modern hardware.

‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ was originally released in November 2009 PS4 owners who purchase the remastered Modern Warfare 2 — which, it should be noted, is not a sequel to last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare — will also get in-game items in both the 2019 game and the battle royale spinoff Warzone, which launched earlier this month.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was originally released in November 2009 and is often regarded as one of the best games of that year, thanks in part to its strong single-player narrative as well as a robust multiplayer mode.

After a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released in November 2016, many were speculating as to when its sequel would receive the same treatment.

Microsoft made the original Modern Warfare 2 backwards compatible on Xbox One in late 2018, but Activision didn’t announce the game would be remastered before today.

Wasteland 3 Has Been Delayed Again Due to COVID-19

Like many, Wasteland 3 developer InXile Entertainment have begun working from home, and are now admitting this has presented “logistical challenges” that will require another delay for the long-awaited RPG.

We've been excited to see the Wasteland 3 Beta so well received, but the reality is that with these new logistical challenges our release was going to be impacted.

We're in a great position with both Microsoft and Deep Silver supporting our desire to ensure the game launches in the best possible circumstances, and to add a few extra months to ensure this is a stellar product on day one.

With that, Wasteland 3's new release date is August 28, 2020.

We appreciate everyone's excitement and continued support as we put a few more months into ensuring that on launch day Wasteland 3 is the experience you've been waiting for.

Bob Mortimer's 'Train Guy' is the funniest thing on the internet right now

"Geoff Linton's getting anxious trousers about the pencil case designs," said Train Guy, again referring to the elusive Geoff Linton.

"Yeah so I'm navigating Network Fail up to London, win-win-count-me-in city," begins Train Guy, who apparently has a "visage-upon-visage one-to-one" with his boss coming up.

My personal favourite is the Pencil Cases episode of Train Guy, which features absolute corkers like "Vision Express yourself....yeah do it boi!"

The English comedian — famed for being one half of the Vic and Bob comedy duo — has immortalised this unfortunate part of our commutes with a recurring skit aptly called Train Guy.

"Just had an e-plop from Geoff Linton, yep THE Geoff Linton," begins Train Guy.

MSI GS66 Stealth Gaming Laptop Leaks With Core i9-10980HK And RTX 2080 Super Max-Q

It will be interesting to see how power hungry these 14nm processors combined with RTX Super graphics cards will be, given the rather impressive runtimes we've seen with AMD's 7nm-based Ryzen 4000 family so far in our ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 review.

The GS66 Stealth 10SGS-036 is equipped with the aforementioned Core i7-10750H, 32GB DDR4-2666, a 512GB PCIe SSD, and a GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q.

There will also be lesser models in the family equipped with "only" a 240Hz display, 6-core/12-thread Core i7-10750H processor, and GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics card.

You'll find NVIDIA's not-yet-announced GeForce RTX 2080 Super with Max-Q.

Word on the street is that we'll see the official launch of 10generation Comet Lake-H mobile processors alongside GeForce RTX Super mobile GPUs.

iPad Pro teardown basically finds 2018’s iPad Pro with a lidar sensor

Unsurprisingly, iFixit gave the 2020 iPad Pro a 3 out of 10 for repairability—the same as it gave the 2018 model.

iFixit found largely the same components before, including a seemingly identical battery.

The important new components are, as noted in our review, 6GB of RAM in all configurations, the new lidar sensor, and (sort of) the A12Z.

Interestingly, iFixit found that the lidar sensor projects far fewer points in a space than Face ID does, but that makes sense given that it's meant for room-scale measurement rather than analyzing the details of someone's face.

As we wrote in that review, the lidar sensor is fascinating in part because it might tell us something about what Apple's priorities are and where it is headed as a company.

Runescape’s developers explain why they chose archaeology as the MMO’s newest feature

“I’m gonna wheel out ban bidders if we’re not careful,” Osborne responds “Ban bidders was basically [the television show] Storage Wars in Runescape, the idea that if we ban players and those players have a lot of wealth, well what if you knew a little bit of information about the person who was banned but not enough to make a decision?

Philpott builds on what Osborne and Fletcher said, noting that digging isn’t just some sort of mundane activity here – Runescape is a fantasy world where magic is normal, after all.

Alongside taking notes of what players had asked for in the past, as well as recognizing the things that people disliked about previous skills, Jagex sent out a sort of secret survey that didn’t include any explicit information about Archaeology, but was designed in such a way that the team could wrangle useful information from the answers.

Osborne says that although Jagex borrows from some of the more typical tropes associated with archaeology, like the chalky exhumations popularized by primary school history books, the new skill also plays into the fantastical nature of Runescape’s world, placing an emphasis on the explorative elements “you’d expect from a Lara Croft or Nathan Drake.”

Senior game designer Tim Fletcher offers a brief breakdown of what the new Archaeology skill entails, noting that it combines excavating buried materials with restoring archaeological artifacts, as you’d likely expect.
