Forza Games Ban Confederate Flag, Notorious Iconography

It is widely expected that Forza Motorsport 8 will be the next game in the franchise, to launch on the upcoming Xbox Series X. Electronic Arts’ EA Sports recently launched similar measures against racism, particularly in its NHL titles, where racism has been rampant on the customizable team names and player names.

Digital Trends has reached out to Microsoft to clarify the severity of the punishment for players who still try to customize their Forza vehicle with a Confederate flag.

In Turn 10 Studios’ new Forza enforcement guidelines, other symbols categorized as notorious iconography include swastikas, SS-runes, the Wolfsangel, the Black Sun, the Arrow Cross, the Iron Cross (with contextual clues), and the Rising Sun.

Some Forza players customize their vehicles with a decal of the Confederate flag to recreate the General Lee, the 1969 Dodge Charger from the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard.

Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios released new enforcement guidelines for the Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon games, which include a ban on the Confederate flag and other so-called “notorious iconography.”

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 will bring more 8-bit Castlevania action in July

Conceived as an 8-bit companion game for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, fans enjoyed the first Curse of the Moon so much, a second will be with us in just two weeks.

As announced in the trailer below, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 will deliver more classic Castlevania action on July 10.

There will be two-player co-op, and it has some nifty mechanics to keep you and your friend enthralled.

Both Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon are reduced at the moment, as part of the Steam summer sale.

Sega Announces the Game Gear Micro in 4 Different Colors

Following up its launch of the Genesis Mini, Sega has announced the Game Gear Micro in Japan.

Sega’s handheld would devour six AA batteries every few hours, but good luck holding it for that long — the Game Gear was about twice as heavy as the Game Boy.

While the Game Gear was the biggest portable of its era, the Game Gear Micro is downright tiny.

Sega is making the Game Gear Micro in four colors, and each comes with four different games for a total of 16.

Here are the variants: Sega has thus far only announced the Game Gear Micro in Japan, where it will ship on October 6th for ¥4,980.

On Twitter, Japanese PlayStation Fans React To The PS5 Showcase Delay With Support

I saw a few incendiary remarks on Japanese game blogs, but on Twitter, many PlayStation fans in Japan seem to support Sony’s decision.

Below is a translation of the Japanese statement: The PlayStation 5 video event scheduled for Friday, June 6 will be delayed.

We believe that gamers worldwide are excited for a first look at the PS5 games, but in light of the current situation in the world, we decided that now is not the appropriate time.

A time when there are fires, looting, beatings, and tumult in protests is no time for a new game hardware announcement.”

“Make an event just for Japan with Japanese game makers.”

Let’s Experiment in EHM: Introducing a WAR-Optimized Roster for 2019-20

In order to prevent a run in the game on free agents, I swapped out the Devils with each player from their original team.

The WAR-Optimized Roster in EHM I took CJ’s team, used archibalduk’s database editor to make a separate database for this game based on xECK29x’s roster I used for Sherman Abrams’ and Trial Run’s games, and replaced the 2019-20 Devils with each of the players CJ identified.

Here it is in own words: Building the WAR-Optimized Lineup by CJ Turtoro The question is “What is the perfect WAR team?”

Maybe you want to see an all-European Devils squad or a team of 18-year old rookies or a team filled with players who weigh less than 170 points or whatever.

Here is the depth chart, per the game: The WAR-Optimized Devils depth chart This is a very good team on paper.

Facebook’s New App Wants Sports Fans Looking at Their Mobile Phones

Facebook has created an app that’s designed to lure the eyeballs of sports fans from their televisions to their mobile devices.

The app, dubbed Venue, comes as fans increasingly watch games while holding a mobile device, or second screen, where they engage on platforms devoted to things like social media and sports betting.

Here’s how it works: The commentators will host a so-called venue for each event, where they’ll provide commentary, pose questions or polls and participate in chats tied to a specific moment in the game.

Fans will be notified when there’s a new moment, enabling viewers to participate if they want to.

“Digital spaces can connect us when we can’t be together in person,’’ said Ime Archibong, head of Facebook’s New Product Experimentation Team, “and Venue is one way to feel the energy of watching live events with other fans.’’

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Alpha 3 Brings Highly Anticipated IFR Support For Pilots

Navblue provides the game with the navigation system database allowing users to plan flights in the virtual world similarly to how flights could be planned in the real world.

Game developers partnered with a flight operations and air traffic management service called Navblue, which is an actual service that is available to pilots in the real world.

To enable the IFR experience required a lot of work to integrate navigation data, flight planning, flight systems, and ATC to support the experience.

Developers behind the game have delayed the rollout of IFR flight in the past, and Feature Discovery Series Episode 8 IFR is finally here.

IFR flight allows pilots in the real world to fly their aircraft into clouds and weather systems where there's no visibility outside the aircraft while maintaining complete control using instruments only in all phases of flight.

Master Predator: Hunting Grounds with These Tips and Tricks

The Predator is fast and tough to spot, and the last thing you want is it picking off each of your team members individually.

It’s still a 4v1 showdown, with four players playing as fireteam members and one player playing as the Predator.

Whenever you first encounter the Predator while playing as a fireteam member, it’s tempting to run away so you can get a clear shot free of danger.

The important thing is to have clear eyesight on all your team members and, if the need arises, a clear shot on the Predator.

The Predator has loadouts, too, and like the fireteam loadouts, the game doesn’t enable any perks by default.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Guide - [How to Set Up Multiplayer

New Horizons handles local multiplayer, or “couch co-op,” a little differently than other games, requiring each member of your party to share the same screen with one player acting as The Leader.

Once a second player has joined the island, a new Call Resident app will be added to everyone’s NookPhone.

This app lets you call other residents who live on the same island and invite them to join your game by doing the following: Note: You can have up to 8-players living on the same island but only 4-players in the same session at any given time.

The player who makes the call is automatically given the role of leader while the joining players are considered followers.

Since New Horizons doesn’t allow for split-screen, followers will automatically trail behind the leader as they make their around the island.

Fortnite Update 12.20: Fortnite Helicopters, Spy Games Event

The major downloadable content update includes the long-awaited release of a new vehicle for battle royale, the start of a limited-time event, and changes to the island map.

All of this expands season two in a significant way, giving players more to do.

Players can access the computer in the main battle pass headquarters to pick between the Ghost and Shadow organizations.

Players can use those abilities exclusively in the special Operation Dropzone game mode that features the two spy agencies battling it out.

The one downside to this event is that it is only open to players who own the season two battle pass, similar to the situation with the Deadpool skin.

The Quiplash 3 trailer has kittens, fire, and aliens

Jackbox Games is giving Jackbox Party Pack players exactly what they want: Quiplash 3.

Quiplash and Quiplash 2 are, honestly, the best two games in the whole series of Party Pack games.

Quiplash was released in 2015 as a standalone game, with Quiplash XL added to The Jackbox Party Pack 2 in 2015, and Quiplash 2 released in The Jackbox Party Pack 3 in 2016.

The Quiplash 3 trailer for Jackbox Party Pack 7, which is expected to be released this fall, has kittens, fire, aliens, and death — but none of that is relevant to the game.

Quiplash 3 is the first game announced for Jackbox Party Pack 7.

Man plugs his PS4 into Airport Monitor to play Apex Legends

A man caught the headlines during the weekend after he thought that playing PS4 in an Airport would be a good idea.

He plugged his PS4 into one of the Airport TVs which are used to display information about flights.

When approached and asked “to unplug and cease using the monitors at the airport”, the users reportedly asked “very politely” if he could finish up his round first.

Unsurprisingly, the request was denied, and Port of Portland spokesperson Kama Simonds took the opportunity to use the incident as “a good reminder of what not do at the airport.”

She adds that the airport information monitors are very necessary and asks politely players to not use them to play.

Man Takes over Portland Airport Monitor to Play Video Game Apex Legends

One man at Oregon's Portland International Airport decided to crank his entertainment up a notch while he waited for his flight and hijacked one of the airport's monitors in order to play his video game.

The game was a PlayStation 4, and it was plugged into a monitor that showed a map of the airport, assisting travelers with directions.

You've got all these monitors there, and he's playing a video game," told CNN Stefan Diez, another passenger who tweeted about the incident.

“That is obviously something that we don’t want to have happened,” said Port of Portland spokesperson Kama Simonds, to KXL News “because travelers need the information that we are putting on the screens for them," Airport officials approached the traveler, Simonds said, “and very kindly asked this person to unplug and cease using the monitors at the airport.”

Should the gamer have been allowed to finish his game, or did officials do the right thing? See https://pdx-airport.com/ for more information.

Man connects PS4 to airport monitor so he can play Apex Legends

Having to wait for hours at the airport is something that many of us experience now and again.

But one man decided to alleviate his boredom by plugging a PlayStation 4 into the airport information monitor and enjoying a game of Apex Legends.

The traveler plugged his PS4 into a monitor that showed a map of the airport.

Apex Legends: Fun in airports The man in question was approached by operations supervisors and “very kindly” asked to unplug the console and cease using the airport monitors.

While being able to use a console on a large airport monitor is a good way to pass the time, there are easier ways to play games while waiting.

oss-sec: linux-distros membership adjustment/vouching

When I my responsibilities shifted from the Ubuntu Security Team to the Chrome OS Security Team, I just kept the email address (since it's a community address and I'm still part of the Ubuntu community).

However, as my responsibilities have shifted, I'm much less involved with the Chrome OS Security Team, and it was recently pointed out that no one else from the Chrome OS Security Team is (to our knowledge) a member right now.

So, attempting to solve things in a backwards order, I'd like to first vouch for a Chrome OS Security Team member who is already on oss-security, with the goal of having them added to the linux-distros list: Jorge Lucangeli Obes <jorgelo () google com> Then I'd like to figure out what to do with my own membership.

I'm still associated with Ubuntu, Chrome OS, and Android but I don't have "official" responsibilities as a representative of their respective security teams.

I am, however, an upstream Linux kernel security contact (but that doesn't qualify as a "Unix-like operating system distro", from item "1" in the membership criteria[1]).
