Doom, Doom II Get Widescreen And 120Hz Support On Android And iOS

Chief among the updates is support for widescreen rendering and much higher refresh rates for both Android and iOS.

In regards to the new widescreen rendering support, Bethesda says that the new feature has been modified to render at 16:9 without any letterboxing.

As for the refresh rate, Bethesda has increased the refresh rate cap to 120Hz, for smartphones with displays capable of supporting the ultra refresh rate.

We definitely see this feature being of greater benefit to Android users, simply because the current iPhone 11’s display only has a refresh rate of 60Hz.

In regards to the iPhone, Bethesda has also added external controller support for Doom and Doom II to the phone.
