Bloomin' Brands (Nasdaq: BLMN) CEO David Deno on pandemic, delivery and company's path forward

Deno sees opportunity to build more Outback Carrabba's Express locations as well as Aussie Grill, the fast-casual concept Bloomin' debuted in the U.S. at Tampa's International Plaza in 2019.

Deno's optimism is fueled by the company's sustained success with takeout and delivery sales as well as the return of customers to dining rooms.

The company was cash flow positive in June, even with dining rooms at limited capacity.

The Tampa-based parent company of Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar on Friday reported a net loss of $92.3 million in the second quarter.

The CEO of Bloomin' Brands Inc. is as bullish as ever on the company's future and sees the novel coronavirus pandemic as an opportunity to take an even bigger bite out of burgeoning takeout and delivery sales.
