Any current XPS 15 9500 customers experiencing this issue can contact Dell customer support to have it remediated.

According to Andrew Marc David, Dell stated the following: Dell is aware that some XPS 15 9500 customers might be experiencing an issue with their touchpad.

The trackpad is not as complex as the Force Touch trackpads that Apple includes in its MacBooks, but the XPS 15 9500 has one of the largest trackpads of any Windows laptop/ While the ones in our review units have worked perfectly well, forums like r/Dell and r/DellXPS are littered with complaints about retail units having wobbly trackpads.

As we have covered in our reviews of the Core i5-10300H and Core i7-10875H models, one of the highlights of new XPS 15 is its trackpad, which is considerably larger than the one that Dell included in past generations of the XPS 15.

Hopefully, neither any new XPS 15 9500 and XPS 17 9700 retail units suffer from the same issue.
