Ren Feng Media’s parent company is Tencent, a holding company whose primary business consists of internet services, entertainment, and more.

But it would seem that iflix has already been bought over and might have a new home outside of Southeast Asia.

This forced the Southeast Asian streaming service to put itself up for sale in June 2020 due to the increased losses based on a report published by Nikkei Asian Review.

The video streaming service that rivals globally popular Netflix, has had a hard time breaking through the Southeast Asian market.

In the case of iflix’s acquisition, this could probably be a step forward in bringing mainland Chinese content to the rest of Southeast Asia.
